Farmer Brothers
Roy E. Farmer started Farmer Brothers in 1912 to provide restaurants with “a great cup of coffee.” He didn’t have the funds for his business, so Farmer Brothers began in the back of his brother’s bicycle shop.
Farmer went on to found Spice Products Company and Custom Coffee Plan and acquired Coffee Bean International and Sara Lee’s DSD coffee food service division, establishing Farmer Brothers as a national manufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor.
Farmer Brothers has more than 115 branches across the United States and supplies more than 60,000 food and beverage establishments.
